COVID-19 Update

We want to update everyone on our procedures at Country Place Veterinary Clinic now that the state has moved into Phase 1. We want to thank everyone for their understanding and patience during Covid-19 curbside service. At this time due to certain restrictions still being in place, our lobby will remain closed. This is to ensure your safety as well as our staff’s safety for the next few weeks. We will review the policy when the state goes into Phase 2. We all look forward to the day when we can see you and your pets in person. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed of any changes going forward. The Doctors and staff want to thank everyone for the support and trust given us during this time.

Please call ahead for prescription medications, supplies, or food then alert us when you arrive and we will go out to your car to deliver the medications, food, or supplies. Please wait in your car for appointments. Call to let us know you are in the parking lot and check in over the phone. We will bring your pet in, examine your pet, communicate remotely and then return your pet to your car.

The CDC, the Louisiana Department of Public Health and the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry all agree that “At this time, there is no evidence that companion animals, including pets, can spread COVID-19”

Thankfully one thing has not changed in our world. It is still ok to love your pet and they can still give their unconditional love back to us.

Welcome to Country Place Veterinary Clinic

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide quality medicine and surgery services while educating pet owners in the art of preventive medicine.

Clinic History

Country Place Veterinary Clinic was established in 1990 as a full-service veterinary medical facility to serve the people of St. Martinville, LA and surrounding communities. The goal of Dr. Jackie Simon and her professional and courteous staff is to provide quality medicine and surgery services while educating pet owners in the art of preventative medicine. We are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership, preventative health care and health related educational opportunities for our clients.

Dr. Jackie employs two Associate Veterinarians, Dr. Lindsay Trahan Reed and Dr. Megan Simon, recent graduate of LSU-SVM.

Dr. Simon is a member of the Acadiana Area Veterinary Association (holds the office of treasurer), the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and was on the Lafayette Parish Animal Control Advisory Board for 8 years. She worked closely with the St. Martin Humane Society at its inception. Dr Simon currently works with St. Martin Parish Animal Services by providing their staff veterinarian assistance and use of some equipment. She has also worked with the Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Kiwanis Club, 4-H Clubs, and Trinity Catholic School organizations. In 2006, Country Place Veterinary Clinic was awarded the prestigious Good Neighbor Award by the Better Business Bureau and was recognized as a runner-up for the Customer Commitment Award. Dr. Jackie currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Walter J. Earnest Foundation.
