Digital Radiography
Country Place Veterinary Clinic is pleased to offer digital radiography to pet owners in St. Martinville, Catahoula, Coteau Holmes, and the surrounding Louisiana communities. One of the most effective and essential diagnostic tools that we have in the animal health industry, digital radiography is painless, safe, non-invasive, and it provides a digital picture of the problem area quickly and without the need for numerous retakes.
Digital radiography enables us to assess the status of injuries or diseases that may be affecting your pet. The images produced through this digital technique help our veterinarians diagnose fractures, locate foreign objects, detect masses such as tumors, measure organ size for disease, diagnose pneumonia, discover pregnancies, bladder stones, chronic arthritis, and certain spinal cord diseases.
Because digital radiography uses such low doses of radiation, and the level of radiation exposure is so low, even pregnant females and very young pets can undergo radiography. Another advantage of digital radiography is that it provides images much faster and with greater clarity than traditional x-rays. These digital images can be manipulated, enhanced, and contrasted, allowing our doctors to diagnose a condition more accurately. Additionally, we can take advantage of telemedicine, a process that allows the digital images to be shared instantly with board certified veterinary radiologists and specialists for consultation if required.
