Laser Therapy
Country Place Veterinary Clinic now offers laser therapy to patients in St. Martinville, Parks, Breaux Bridge, and Youngsville, Louisiana. Laser therapy is an innovative treatment option for common ailments in dogs such as arthritis, degenerative joint disease, traumatic wounds, post-surgery issues, burns, and snake bites.
MLS laser therapy is a painless, drug-free treatment that reduces pain and promotes healing through the use of light energy that is absorbed in the tissue and cells of a pet during treatment. We are able to manipulate the type of laser pulses your pet will receive based on the condition from which they are suffering. In the course of each treatment, energy from the laser increases circulation, drawing water, oxygen, and nutrients to the damaged area. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasms, stiffness and pain. It can also accelerate tissue repair and cell growth, improve circulation and nerve function, reduce scar tissue formation, and help the immune system fend off infection which means your pet will heal more quickly. Laser therapy causes no adverse effects on healthy cells. As the injured area returns to normal, function is restored and pain is relieved, allowing your pet to quickly return to his or her normal activities. Relief and/or improvement is often noticed within hours depending on the condition and your pet’s response.
Pain management is another excellent application of our therapy laser. In the past, conditions such as osteoarthritis could only be treated with the use of medications such as NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). Today, however, laser therapy is an excellent drug-free alternative that may provide relief without the use of medication.
Whether your pet has experienced trauma or injury, is healing from wounds, or simply aging, your best friend can benefit from this innovative approach to treating pain. If you think your pet may benefit from laser therapy treatments, please schedule an appointment to have your pet evaluated by one of our knowledgeable veterinarians.
